Cristina Calvert is more than an event planner—she’s a storyteller in refined form. As the visionary owner and creative director of Cristina Calvert Weddings, based just outside Washington, D.C. in Potomac, Maryland, Cristina has curated transformative weddings since 2012 characterized by timeless elegance and thoughtfully layered details.
Raised on Maryland’s Eastern Shore and steeped in formal etiquette from an early age, Cristina began her career in luxury wedding catering and event operations. Her backstage experience includes orchestrating oversized tented affair, coordinating multiple destination wedding weekends and designing home weddings along the East Coast and abroad. This experience instilled in her a deep appreciation for bespoke, elevated event design that merges seamless logistics with intentional artistry.
Cristina’s signature approach is rooted in the art of entertaining, crafting celebrations that engage all five senses. She invites couples to share the stories behind their favorite places, signature dishes, and travel memories—then translates those moments into immersive wedding weekends, complete with custom menus, ambient details, curated scents, and personalized design flourishes.
Cristina’s warm, calming presence and genuine care foster deep trust with her clients. Her thoughtful advocacy and attention to detail have earned glowing reviews, with clients praising her ability to turn complex logistics into serene, joyful experiences—and to remain “steadfast in kindness and compassion” throughout the process.
When she’s not orchestrating picturesque weddings, Cristina loves feeding her wanderlust with travel, gathering in her home for dinner parties, collecting cookbooks, brushing up on Italian, decorating her home, and spending time in the Bahamas. She resides in Potomac with her husband Justin, their golden retriever, and their two children.
